Higher One Card

The Higher One Card… a Terrific Option For All Students

The Higher One Card is a refund debit card that many colleges are using to provide refunds and disbursements to their students.

When financial assistance or scholarship funds have been released by the college the money is deposited into the students Higher One checking account.

HACC has developed a great financial working relationship with Higher One and their students in hopes of bringing students even better and faster choices.

Students receive their cards in the mail one week after they have enrolled in school. The envelope the cards arrive in is bright green and students are asked not to discard their cards.

The Higher One Card Needs To Be Activated

Options

All monetary transactions conducted by the school will result in the deposit or withdrawal of funds from the Higher One account. Students who choose not to have their funds deposited to their account can choose from several other options.

They can choose to have their money deposited into a pre-existing bank account. Most students choose this method if they already have an account set up at a bank or credit union.

Although, it is not mandatory for students to use the card, it is the best and quickest way for colleges to pay students without making them wait for a paper check.

Don’t Lose It, There’s a Replacement Fee

Students who lose their Higher One card are required to pay a replacement fee of $20. Once a Higher One account has been established, students can register their cards online and log in to their account immediately.

They are able to control all the features associated with their card and they can also setup their refund preference. Students are responsible for all charges associated with the use of the card.

Customer service is available by calling the 1800 number listed on the back of the card.

Students are required to keep their personal information current and to report any changes in address or contact number to their college.

It is also recommended that students check their emails regularly for important information from their financial institution or from their college. The Higher One card is the preferred method of payment by colleges and universities.
